Job Description

The Sales Counsellor / Academic Counsellor is responsible for supporting prospective students through the admissions process by offering program guidance and converting inquiries into successful enrollments. This role requires strong communication, customer service orientation, and sales expertise to help students make informed academic and career decisions. The counsellor will engage with students and parents through phone calls, counselling sessions, emails, and digital platforms, ensuring a professional and supportive experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound inquiries related to academic programs and admissions.
  • Conduct structured counselling sessions to understand student needs, academic background, and career goals.
  • Recommend appropriate courses and provide complete details regarding curriculum, fees, placements, and admission procedures.
  • Convert leads into admissions through consistent follow-ups, relationship building, and persuasive communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and update CRM systems regularly.
  • Support marketing and academic teams in lead-generation activities and promotional events.
  • Represent the institution at webinars, seminars, workshops, and educational fairs.
  • Achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly enrollment and revenue targets.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities.
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated with strong follow-up discipline.
  • Problem-solving attitude and student-first approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (Education, Business, or Psychology preferred).
  • Experience in academic counselling, telesales, or education sales is an added advantage.

  • Telugu – Native / Fluent
