Job Description

The Industrial Safety Garments Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process of safety garments including planning, scheduling, production, quality control, and delivery. This role ensures that garments such as coveralls, high-visibility clothing, flame-resistant (FR) wear, and other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) are produced efficiently, safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

 Production Management

 Plan and organize production schedules based on order requirements.

 Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery.

 Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.

 Maintain production output in alignment with quality and safety standards.

Team Leadership

 Supervise and coordinate the work of production supervisors, line leaders, and floor staff.

 Train workers on technical processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.

 Ensure team adherence to production goals and safety regulations.

Quality Control

 Collaborate with the QA/QC team to enforce quality standards specific to safety garments

 Implement corrective actions in case of defects or non-conformance.

 Conduct periodic audits and inspections on the production floor.

Technical Knowledge

 Understand and implement technical requirements for industrial safety garments such as flame resistance, chemical protection, reflective striping, stitching techniques, seam sealing, etc.

 Stay updated with international garment safety standards and certifications.

Supply Chain & Inventory

 Coordinate with the procurement team for timely availability of fabrics, trims, accessories, and packaging materials.

 Monitor raw material inventory and minimize production downtime due to shortages.

Documentation & Reporting

 Maintain accurate records of production targets, outputs, efficiency, and wastage.

 Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports for senior management.

Cost Control

 Monitor production costs and suggest methods to optimize processes and reduce waste.

 Ensure efficient labor and material usage to achieve cost-effective production.

Education:

 Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Garment Technology, or related field.

Experience:

 Minimum 5–7 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 2–3 years in safety or industrial garments.

 Proven experience managing a medium to large-scale production unit.

Skills:

 Strong leadership and team management.

 In-depth knowledge of industrial safety garment specifications and compliance standards.

 Excellent planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

 Proficient in production software/tools (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Excel).

 Understanding of Lean Manufacturing

 OSHA [Occupational Safety and Health Administration] Awareness (for export-oriented units)
