Job Description

  • Ensure timely renewals and compliance for Factory Licence, Fire NOC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws, including the Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Trade Unions Act, and other statutory regulations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit all mandatory reports, registers, and returns as required by government authorities.

Grievance & Discipline Management

  • Manage employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and domestic enquiries while ensuring adherence to due legal procedures.
  • Implement fair and transparent grievance-handling mechanisms.

IR Strategy & Risk Mitigation

  • Develop and implement IR strategies aligned with organizational goals and legal compliance.
  • Anticipate labour-related risks, identify potential disputes, and implement proactive risk-mitigation measures to avoid disruptions.
  • Collaborate closely with government agencies such as the Labour Commissioner and Factory Inspector.

Training & Capability Building

  • Train line managers and supervisors on labour laws, disciplinary procedures, and industrial relations best practices.
  • Support organizational change initiatives from an IR perspective, ensuring smooth adoption at the shop-floor level.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in HR, Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare, Law, or an equivalent field.
  • 1020 years of experience in Industrial Relations, ideally in a manufacturing or heavily unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in union negotiations, dispute resolution, and labour law compliance.

Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, government regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Up-to-date understanding of legal changes and statutory mandates, along with liaisoning experience with government bodies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with union leaders, employees, and statutory authorities.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and integrity.
  • Strong crisis-management capabilities and strategic thinking.
