The Industrial Relations Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth labor relations, statutory compliance, and workforce stability across both manufacturing operations and facility management environments. The role manages relationships with employees, contractors, and unions, handles grievances and disputes, and ensures legal and regulatory compliance to maintain uninterrupted operations and high workforce engagement.
Develop and implement Industrial Relations strategies, policies, and processes aligned with organizational goals.
Maintain positive relationships with employees, contractors, outsourced staff, and unions to prevent disputes.
Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution effectively and fairly.
Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations (Factories Act, Contract Labor Act, Minimum Wages, PF, ESI, Shops & Establishment, Gratuity, Bonus, Safety & Environmental laws).
Conduct audits, maintain statutory records, and prepare IR compliance reports for management.
Liaise with government authorities, labor departments, and legal advisors for inspections, disputes, or regulatory matters.
Provide guidance and training to supervisors, site managers, and HR teams on labor law compliance, grievance handling, and IR best practices.
Support workforce planning, onboarding, and engagement initiatives to maintain high productivity and morale.
Identify and mitigate IR risks, including strikes, labor unrest, or compliance violations, across all operational sites.
Collaborate with operations, HR, and management teams to ensure uninterrupted service and production.
Strong knowledge of labor laws and industrial relations practices applicable to manufacturing and facility management.
Excellent negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to manage multi-site, multi-category workforce (direct employees, contractual staff, outsourced staff).
Leadership skills to influence management and lead IR teams.
Strong communication skills in English and local languages.
Analytical skills to track IR metrics, identify trends, and implement improvements.
Ability to work under pressure and manage high-volume workforce scenarios.
Education: Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) — specialization or additional certification in labor law is a plus.
7–15 years of Industrial Relations experience, including workforce management, statutory compliance, and dispute resolution in manufacturing and/or facility management industries.
