Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Handle day-to-day IR issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions in alignment with labor laws.
Lead and participate in
union negotiations, settlements, and long-term agreements (LTAs)
.
Build and maintain a healthy and constructive relationship with trade unions and workmen representatives.
Ensure
statutory compliance
under applicable labor laws including Factories Act, ID Act, CLRA, etc.
Liaise with labor departments and government bodies for audits, inspections, and statutory submissions.
Assist in drafting and implementing standing orders, disciplinary procedures, and HR policies.
Support in legal matters related to labor and IR including appearances at labor court if needed.
Prepare MIS reports, maintain documentation related to IR and statutory requirements.
Drive engagement and communication initiatives with unionized workforce.
Ensure smooth conduct of Works Committee / Safety Committee / Grievance Redressal forums.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Labour Welfare, HR, or Industrial Relations (PGD in IR is preferred).
4 - 8 years of
hands-on IR experience
in a unionized factory setup.
Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
In-depth understanding of Indian labor laws and statutory regulations.
Exposure to union settlements and labor litigation is a strong plus.
Proficiency in local language (e.g., Gujarati) is essential
