Industrial Engineer

Job Title: Industrial Engineer Department: Process Innovation Company: Spectrum Electrical Industries Limited Role Purpose: To design, implement, and improve production systems that enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure process consistency across all manufacturing operations including fabrication, powder coating, assembly, and subcontracting . The Industrial Engineer plays a strategic role in aligning plant operations with Spectrum’s business objectives of productivity, quality, and customer delivery. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Production Planning & Capacity Optimization Conduct time & motion studies , line balancing, and method improvements to optimize workflows across departments. Analyze capacity vs. demand for internal and subcontracted operations ; recommend adjustments to balance load. Develop standard cycle times , productivity benchmarks, and labor norms for all key processes. 2. Process Design & Continuous Improvement Map end-to-end processes and identify opportunities for waste elimination, process standardization , and cycle time reduction . Lead Lean Manufacturing , Kaizen , and 5S implementation across shop floors. Support digital transformation initiatives (e.g., dashboards, production monitoring, downtime analysis). 3. Resource Planning & Cost Optimization Optimize use of manpower, materials, machines, and space to minimize cost and maximize throughput. Analyze machine utilization, material flow , and layout design to support efficient operations. Support make vs. buy decisions and evaluate cost impact of insourcing vs. outsourcing. 4. Industrial Data Management & Reporting Maintain accurate data on OEE, TAKT time, rejection, downtime, and rework , and prepare monthly IE dashboards. Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to implement corrective actions based on data trends. 5. Project Management & New Product Integration Evaluate new product/process introduction from feasibility, layout, and resource planning perspective . Participate in cross-functional teams for NPD, automation, and layout change projects . Qualifications & Experience: Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Industrial Engineering / Mechanical / Production Experience: 1–5 years in a process/manufacturing-intensive industry, preferably electrical or sheet metal-based. Key Skills: Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis Experience in time study, line balancing, layout design , and cost analysis Proficiency in AutoCAD , MS Excel (Advanced), and ERP/SAP systems Strong analytical mindset with a focus on systems, sustainability, and cost control
