Incharge-kiln Mech.

Purpose/Objective

Lead the mechanical maintenance of the kiln–preheater–calciner–cooler and coal firing mechanical systems to deliver high availability, stable clinker quality, and energy performance. Own PM/CBM strategy, shutdown planning & execution, condition monitoring, and cross-functional coordination with Production, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), Quality, and Automation—while enforcing EHS standards and cost discipline.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Maintenance Strategy & Reliability- Build and govern PM/CBM (vibration, thermography, alignment, ovality/tyre creep, gear backlash/contact checks, seal integrity). - Implement condition monitoring routes; analyze trends and act before failure. - Lead RCA/RCM for chronic failures (gear pitting, bearing failures, seal wear, cooler breakdowns); implement corrective actions and verify via KPIs. B) Shutdowns & Turnarounds- Own shutdown planning & execution: scope, critical path, manpower, contractor/OEM management, QA/QC, commissioning & poststartup reliability verification. - Prepare work instructions with tolerances and acceptance criteria (alignment, backlash, thrust settings, seal leakage). C) Spares & Inventory- Define critical spares (bearings, seals, gear components, grate plates, fan parts); set ROP/ROQ; reduce emergency purchase ratio. D) EHS & Compliance- Enforce PTW/LOTO, confined space, hot work, working at height; conduct JSA/RA and toolbox talks; maintain audit readiness. - Ensure housekeeping and mechanical integrity that impacts emissions (baghouse leaks, duct integrity). E) Cross-Functional Coordination- Align with Production on constraints (burner settings, feed rate, startup/heatup protocols). - Coordinate with E&I/Automation for interlocks/trips tied to mechanical health and draft control; support DCS alarm rationalization. - Work with Quality/Refractory during relines/patching and heatup regimes. F) Documentation & CMMS- Maintain SAP PM/CMMS accuracy: work orders, failure codes, repair history, spares; publish weekly Mechanical Health & Reliability reports.

Qualifications and Experience

- Education: Diploma/BE in Mechanical Engineering. - Experience: 8–12+ years in cement mechanical maintenance (kiln/cooler focus) with 3–5+ years in a lead/incharge role. - Preferred Certifications: Vibration CATII/III, IR thermography, laser alignment, TPM/Lean; ISO 45001 awareness
