Import/Export Manager

• Experience in International Trade and Logistics
• Proven track record in managing imports and exports, including experience with customs procedures, freight forwarding, and Incoterms.
• Knowledge of Compliance & Regulations
• Familiarity with global trade compliance, customs laws, export control regulations (e.g., DGFT, FEMA, BIS in India or EAR/ITAR in the US), and trade documentation.
• Strong Documentation and Process Management
• Skilled in preparing and reviewing shipping and export/import documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Vendor and Freight Negotiation Skills
• Ability to negotiate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers for cost-effective and timely shipments.
• Proficiency in ERP and Trade Software
• Experience with systems like SAP, Oracle, or trade-specific platforms like Trade shift, Descartes, or Cargo Wise.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities
• Capable of resolving delays, optimizing routes, and reducing duties/taxes through FTAs, HS Code classification, or smart sourcing.
• Understanding of Global Market Dynamics
• Insight into currency fluctuations, tariffs, import duties, and trade barriers that affect cost and delivery timelines.
• Excellent Communication and Coordination Skills
• Strong coordination with internal teams (sales, procurement, finance) and external stakeholders (customs officials, logistics partners).
• Certifications and Educational Background
• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. Certifications like CITM, CILT, CSCP, or FIATA credentials are a plus.
• Attention to Detail and Multitasking
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and countries simultaneously without error.
