Import Specialist China Imports (Two-Wheeler Accessories)

Role & responsibilities

1. China Vendor & Supplier Management:

• Coordinate with China suppliers for order confirmation, production updates, and shipment schedules, and new supplier development.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
• Experience managing Alibaba B2B accounts and international suppliers.
• Assist procurement in price negotiations, MOQ discussions, and sourcing strategies.

2. Import Operations & Logistics:

• Manage end-to-end import operations from CHINA to INDIA, USA,UK,EUROPE
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers.
• Track shipments, monitor timelines, and proactively resolve delays.
• Optimize freight and logistics costs via route and mode selection.

3. Customs & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with Indian customs regulations, duties, and import documentation.
• Prepare and verify import documents: commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Stay updated on import/export regulations, HS codes, and duty structures specific to two-wheeler accessories.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of all imports from China, including shipment status, invoices, and customs clearance.
• Provide regular reports to management on delivery timelines, cost analysis, and import efficiency.
• Collaborate with finance for LC management, payment schedules, and foreign currency transactions.

5. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:

• Identify opportunities to reduce import costs, lead times, and risks associated with Chinese imports.
• Suggest process improvements for import operations and vendor coordination.
• Work closely with the supply chain team to streamline inventory replenishment.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
• 35 years of experience handling imports from China, preferably in automotive or two-wheeler accessories.
• Strong understanding of Chinese suppliers, shipping practices, and INCOTERMS.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of customs clearance, HS codes, duties, and import regulations.
