About the Role

Sr. IBM DB2 Administrator

database administration, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting

🔹

Key Responsibilities

Manage
DB2 LUW architecture
, installation, instance creation, and product setup.
Create and maintain
database objects
(tables, indexes, views, tablespaces, stored procedures).
Implement
backup & restore strategies
(online, offline, point-in-time recovery).
Perform
tablespace management, reorg (online/offline), and data movement utilities
.
Configure & maintain
HADR
for high availability and disaster recovery.
Monitor database health using
PD, TOP, and monitoring tools
.
Conduct
performance tuning
(DBM/DB parameters, query tuning using EXPLAIN/ADVISE).
Handle
redirect restores between servers
and
database upgrades/rollback plans
.
Implement
replication setups (SQL & Q)
for primary-to-standby environments.
Troubleshoot issues related to
logs, rollback segments, tablespaces, I/O errors, data corruption
.
Define
naming conventions, data structures, storage parameters, and security rules
.
Estimate and recommend
storage requirements
.
Apply
patches, upgrades, and proactive monitoring
to prevent outages.
Support
day-to-day database administration & performance optimization
.
