IaC Engineer (Bicep)

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer

with strong expertise in

Bicep

and Azure infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain reusable IaC modules and infrastructure pipelines that support secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environments. The role requires deep hands-on experience with

Azure DevOps

,

Bicep

, and related DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Automation: Design, build, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Bicep templates and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Reusable Modules Development: Create and manage modular, reusable IaC components to ensure consistency and efficiency across environments.
  • Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure deployment and configuration.
  • Governance & Compliance: Implement Azure Policies, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and tagging strategies to ensure governance and compliance.
  • Version Control & Documentation: Maintain infrastructure code in Git repositories, enforce branching strategies, and create detailed documentation.
  • Integration: Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps, and security teams to integrate IaC solutions into enterprise cloud strategies.
  • Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve issues in deployment workflows, templates, or modules to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Azure IaC best practices and emerging tools to enhance automation capabilities.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in infrastructure automation or DevOps engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure Bicep and ARM templates for declarative infrastructure provisioning.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, YAML configurations, and release management.
  • Solid understanding of Azure infrastructure components — VNets, NSGs, AKS, Storage, Key Vault, App Services, etc.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and scripting for automation.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD principles.
  • Knowledge of Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Policy as Code.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
