Housekeeeping Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure high standards of cleanliness, order, and sanitation in all assigned areas. The role involves supervising housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and schedule housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they meet established cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Assign tasks and duties to housekeeping staff based on occupancy and operational needs.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment; coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
• Ensure all housekeeping procedures comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback or coaching to team members.
• Prepare housekeeping reports (room status, cleaning logs, inventory records, etc.) as required.
• Coordinate with front office, maintenance, and other departments for smooth operations.
• Handle guest complaints or requests related to housekeeping services in a prompt and courteous manner.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• Experience:

  Minimum 2–4 years of housekeeping experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

• Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and safety procedures
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, property management systems preferred)
