Hotel Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer is responsible for leading the Engineering & Maintenance Department, ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and upkeep of all hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. This role oversees the preventive and corrective maintenance programs, energy conservation initiatives, project management, and compliance with safety and legal standards, while leading and developing the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire Engineering department, including staffing, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Manage and supervise repairs and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire safety, and other critical systems.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental policies.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for outsourced maintenance, projects, or major repairs.
• Prepare and manage the department's budget, including forecasting and cost control.
• Ensure emergency systems (e.g., generators, fire alarms, pumps) are fully functional and regularly tested.
• Provide technical support to other departments as needed.
• Lead capital improvement projects and renovations, ensuring quality and timelines are met.
• Maintain up-to-date records, including logs, inspection reports, licenses, and permits.
• Participate in Executive Committee meetings and contribute to overall hotel strategy and planning.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
