1. Job Purpose

The Hostel Warden is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, discipline, security, and welfare of all residents in the hostel. The role aims to maintain a safe, hygienic, and supportive living environment for students at PPSU.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Hostel Administration

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, room allotment, and hostel occupancy.
• Oversee room allocation, shifting, and maintenance of hostel infrastructure.
• Supervise housekeeping and ensure cleanliness in all hostel areas.
• Monitor maintenance needs and report issues to the administration.

B. Discipline & Safety

• Implement and monitor compliance with hostel rules and regulations.
• Maintain entry/exit registers and monitor visitor movement.
• Ensure security of the hostel premises, including conducting regular rounds.
• Address emergencies quickly—medical, disciplinary, or safety-related.

C. Student Welfare

• Address student grievances and ensure their well-being within the hostel.
• Promote a positive and respectful living environment for students.
• Coordinate with parents/guardians when required.
• Facilitate medical support and ensure availability of first-aid supplies.

D. Administration & Reporting

• Maintain stock registers for hostel supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Coordinate with mess/kitchen staff to ensure quality and timely meals.
• Submit periodic reports to the supervising authorities.
• Assist in audits, inspections, and hostel events.
