Horticultural Engineer

Horticulture Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Horticulture Engineer to design, implement, and maintain sustainable horticultural systems for commercial, agricultural, or landscape projects. The ideal candidate will combine scientific knowledge with practical expertise to support plant cultivation, landscape development, soil management, and environmental protection efforts. Key Responsibilities: Plan, design, and supervise the installation of horticultural systems (greenhouses, irrigation systems, gardens, etc.) Conduct soil and plant health assessments and recommend improvements. Select appropriate plant species based on climate, soil, and design needs. Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to control diseases and pests. Monitor and manage irrigation, fertilization, and plant care schedules. Advise on sustainability practices and environmentally friendly landscaping techniques. Collaborate with landscape architects, agronomists, and civil engineers on multi-disciplinary projects. Supervise and train horticultural technicians and ground staff. Maintain records related to plant health, soil analysis, and project progress. Ensure compliance with local environmental and agricultural regulations Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Horticultural Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in horticulture, landscape management, or related roles. Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, irrigation systems, and pest control. Proficient in design and CAD software is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills. Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions. Strong communication and leadership skills. Preferred Skills: Certification in Landscape Design or Sustainable Agriculture. Experience with hydroponics, aquaponics, or vertical farming.
