Job Description

Position Overview

The Site HR will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations at the warehouse, ensuring smooth manpower availability, compliance, employee engagement, and alignment with 3PL and client operational requirements. This role supports a fast-paced grocery warehouse environment (ambient, chilled & frozen), ensuring high workforce productivity and adherence to labor standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Manpower Management

  • Manage end-to-end hiring of warehouse associates, pickers, packers, loaders/unloaders, delivery support staff, and supervisors.
  • Maintain required manpower strength as per client SLAs and shift productivity targets.
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies for daily deployment, onboarding, and replacements.
  • Forecast manpower requirements for peak/lean periods and support workforce planning.

2. Onboarding & Induction

  • Conduct joining formalities, document collection, and ID/badge issuance.
  • Facilitate HR induction covering policies, safety, hygiene, and code of conduct.
  • Ensure proper training on warehouse procedures and client-specific expectations.

3. Attendance, Leave & Shift Management

  • Monitor biometric attendance and maintain shift rosters.
  • Validate overtime, leave approvals, and shift changes.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports for payroll input.

4. Payroll & Compliance

  • Coordinate with payroll team to ensure correct payout of salaries, OT, and incentives.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, LWF, Bonus, Gratuity).
  • Maintain records as per labor laws and client audit requirements.
  • Manage contractor compliance including CLRA documentation and monthly audits.

5. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Address employee grievances related to attendance, payout, workplace behavior, etc.
  • Create a positive work environment through engagement initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly connect sessions, R&R programs, and welfare activities.
  • Manage disciplinary actions and warnings as per HR policy.

6. Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate functional and behavioral training.
  • Conduct mandatory trainings: safety, food hygiene (FSSAI), handling chilled & frozen SKUs, and equipment training.
  • Track training records and effectiveness.

7. Performance Management

  • Support supervisors in goal setting and productivity tracking.
  • Evaluate daily and monthly workforce performance (pick rate, error rate, adherence).
  • Manage performance improvement plans for low-performing associates.

8. HR Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain HRIS/WMS data accuracy for all staff.
  • Share daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports including headcount, attrition, absenteeism, new joiners & exits.
  • Prepare audit-ready HR documentation.

9. Safety, Hygiene & Compliance Support

  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols in the warehouse.
  • Support EHS team in safety tool-box talks, audits, and incident reporting.
  • Ensure workplace hygiene, PPE compliance, and accident tracking.

10. Coordination & Client Interaction

  • Act as HR point of contact for client operations and audits.
  • Participate in client reviews on manpower, attrition, compliance, and productivity.
  • Maintain strong relationships with client HR and vendor partners.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HR operations in warehousing/logistics/3PL environment.
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance and labor laws.
  • Excellent communication, grievance handling, and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced grocery warehouse with multiple shifts.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, HRIS, and attendance/payroll systems.

Qualification & Experience

  • MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent.
  • 37 years of experience in HR operations, preferably in

    3PL, FMCG, Grocery, Logistics, or E-commerce warehouses

    .
  • Experience managing large manpower (100–500+ workforce) preferred.
