Head Supply Chain Management

Role & responsibilities

Lead the supply chain and contracts function for Jyoti Structures Ltd., ensuring efficient, transparent and cost-effective procurement, contracting, logistics and inventory management to support timely delivery of Transmission and Distribution EPC projects across India.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic and Leadership

• Drive JSLs SCM strategy aligned with business goals and execution schedule commitments.
• Strengthen a culture of integrity, transparency, diligence and commitment across the supply chain.
• Build and lead a high-performing procurement, contracts, logistics and warehouse team.

2. Procurement and Vendor Management

• Develop sourcing strategies for structures, conductors, insulators, hardware, foundation materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Secure competitive pricing and timely supply through effective supplier development and negotiations.
• Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships and enforce vendor performance evaluations.
• Expand vendor base for critical materials and services to support scale and risk mitigation.

3. Contracts and Commercial

• Draft and finalise supply and subcontract agreements in alignment with JSL standards.

4. Planning, Logistics and Inventory Management

• Align procurement plan with engineering release and project execution plans.
• Ensure timely despatch and delivery to project sites through proactive expediting and logistics control.
• Oversee warehousing, site stores operations and ensure discipline, accuracy and reconciliation of materials.
• Implement measures to prevent pilferage and enforce audit compliance.

5. Process, Systems and Controls

• Implement and strengthen SCM SOPs, ERP processes and control mechanisms.
• Monitor procurement cycle time, supplier performance, inventory levels and logistics cost.
• Drive continuous improvement and digitisation initiatives for agile execution and real-time visibility.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Tendering for competitive vendor quotes and price benchmarking.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Execution, Quality and Finance to ensure seamless supply support.
• Provide strong service orientation to project sites through field SCM support and escalation handling.

7. People Leadership

• Mentor, train and build capability in the SCM team.
• Promote accountability, ethical conduct, and disciplined process adherence.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate in Engineering; preferred MBA in Supply Chain or Operations.
• 15 to 20 years experience in SCM, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Power T&D EPC.
• Proven experience in bulk procurement, contracts, logistics and multi-site supply operations.
• Strong network in T&D supply markets and vendor ecosystem.
