Job Title: Health & Safety Manager – Construction Projects

Reports to: Project Head / HSE Head
Purpose of the Role:To take complete ownership of developing and executing health & safety plans at the workplace in alignment with legal and organizational guidelines. The role ensures a zero-harm environment, coordinating closely with cross-functional teams such as Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical departments to raise awareness, train personnel, and mitigate construction-related hazards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:Implement and ensure compliance with safety guidelines for mechanical and other site activities.
Enforce HSE protocols during execution of all on-site construction tasks.
Develop and execute workplace health and safety plans aligned with legal standards.
Identify, report, and ensure the closure of any misconduct, unsafe conditions, or unsafe acts.
Formulate and maintain comprehensive safety strategies and procedures to protect people and property.
Conduct workplace risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Lead routine inspections and audits to ensure safety compliance.
Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive measures.
Deliver regular safety training and organize impactful safety awareness programs.
Maintain accurate records for inspections, incidents, safety drills, and training logs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of current safety practices and recommend continuous improvements.
Offer ongoing guidance to both employees and management on all safety-related concerns.
Stay informed on emerging safety trends, tools, and regulatory changes.
Keep detailed documentation on all safety processes, activities, and compliance requirements.
Ensure work activities adhere to internal policies, engineering standards, and contract terms.
Perform risk assessments and ensure legal compliance across operations.
Supervise equipment safety inspections and ensure proper maintenance.
Regularly review and revise safety procedures in alignment with operational changes.
Analyze historical injury reports to guide future prevention strategies.
Provide safety consultancy to the project team and ensure compliance with statutory and industry-specific regulations.
Qualifications:Essential:
B.E./B. Tech./B.Sc. in any discipline
Desirable/Preferred:
Post-Graduate Degree or Diploma in Safety Management
Advanced/Post Diploma in Industrial Safety
Experience Requirements:Total Experience: 8 to 16 Years
Relevant Experience: 8 to 10 Years in Health & Safety roles
Preferred Industry & Experience Background:Organizational Type: MNCs, Indian Conglomerates, Large-Scale, SME, Listed, High-Growth, Process-driven companies
Sectors: Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Infrastructure
Domain Experience: At least 5 years in Mining, Cement, Power, or Instrumentation
Industry Exposure: Strong preference for candidates with experience in Cement or Manufacturing industries
