Head Procurement

As the Head of Procurement in a manufacturing industry, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of the supply chain management. You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of procurement and subcontracting to support the organization's operations effectively. Your key responsibilities include: - Establishing procurement policies and strategies to streamline the procurement process - Being accountable for spend management, procurement ethics, and maintaining supplier relationships - Providing inputs for overall procurement planning and strategy - Consolidating the supply base to leverage enterprise volume for cost savings - Ensuring the supply base is capable of providing quality and continuous supply - Developing systems and processes for efficient procurement planning and coordination - Establishing procurement key performance indicators (KPIs) and reviewing strategic sourcing plans - Identifying opportunities for cost reduction through better procurement planning at the project level - Managing staffing for projects and resources effectively - Building cross-functional relationships and ensuring internal customer satisfaction - Intervening with suppliers or capability centers to resolve issues and ensure timely deliveries To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following key competencies: - Negotiation skills and knowledge of commercial terms - Understanding of SCM processes and trends worldwide - Strong communication, people management, and presentation skills - Analytical ability and strategic orientation - Networking skills and resource planning capabilities - Customer service orientation and improvement orientation Additionally, having knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and innovativeness will be advantageous in fulfilling your responsibilities effectively. Your 15+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in the Oil and Gas sector, along with relevant educational qualifications like BE/BTech, MBA, and membership in SCM-related groups will be valuable assets in this role.,
