Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the long-term operational strategy to achieve profitable growth and expansion targets
  • Drive new store rollouts, focusing on tier-2 to tier-6 markets with a scalable, cost-efficient operating model.
  • Own full P&L responsibility across store operations, supply chain, merchandising, and customer experience.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure daily store operations run with high efficiency, consistent SOP adherence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build a strong supply chain and merchandising backbone to optimize availability, minimize wastage, and maximize sales per sq. ft.
  • Implement technology-led solutions for productivity, inventory, and workforce optimization.

Business Growth & Profitability

  • Develop initiatives to improve same-store sales, number of bills, and customer loyalty.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and take corrective action to ensure profitability at store and company level.
  • Design and execute cost-saving measures without compromising customer experience.

People Leadership

  • Build a strong culture of accountability, customer centricity, and performance.
  • Address high attrition challenges through training, career development, and employee engagement strategies.

Expansion & Market Development

  • Identify and evaluate potential markets, especially underserved rural and semi-urban regions.
  • Standardize store opening processes to enable rapid, consistent rollouts.
  • Build partnerships with vendors, local communities, and FMCG players for growth.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 1520 years of experience in modern retail / FMCG retail operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (multi-store / multi-region responsibility).
  • Proven track record of scaling retail formats and delivering turnaround profitability.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, supply chain, merchandising, and customer experience.
  • Experience in tier-2 to tier-6 markets preferred.
  • MBA/PGDM or equivalent degree in Business, Retail, or Operations Management.
  • Turnaround strategist with sharp business acumen.
  • Strong people leadership and ability to inspire large, diverse teams.
  • Hands-on operator with execution focus and agility.
  • Data-driven decision maker with financial discipline.
  • High resilience, adaptability, and entrepreneurial drive
