Description
As a QA Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality control function and manufacturing quality function to ensure they meet quality standards for materials, products, NPD, and manufacturing processes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Formulate and set quality policies in alignment with global furniture quality standards and legal regulations for the quality control function. - Build a motivated, competent, and results-focused Quality team. - Manage all incoming material and component inspection activities, as well as develop and manage new product test activities. - Analyze product risks throughout the production lifecycle and recommend preventative actions. - Monitor verification and follow-up of quality issues at the production line, ensuring timely closure of all open nonconformity issues. - Plan and prioritize inspections to maximize performance for timely deliveries. - Ensure stringent quality testing of products before reaching the customer. - Prepare documentation for internal quality control audits and quality checks. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Production, Sourcing, Engineering, and Sales to resolve quality issues. - Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement. **Qualifications/Skills:** - Bachelor of Science Degree in a Technical discipline, preferably Wood Science. - Minimum of ten (10) years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with proven Quality Management System oversight capability. - Good exposure to liaison with Buying Houses. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proven leadership skills, including team development and management, as well as influencing others. - Thorough understanding of common quality parameters, wood characteristics, and problem-solving tools like Quality Control Plans, Process Capability, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Six Sigma/5s principles. - Proficiency in data interpretation, root cause investigations, problem solving, and corrective action implementation. - Thorough understanding of various compliance and auditing processes.
