Hiring a Head – New Accounts (Japan) -Data & AI Services for a global IT service provider based out of Chennai/Bangalore/Hyderabad. Experience in managing Japanese clients.

Role Overview

New Accounts for the Japan market

delivering new Japanese enterprise client projects

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive

  new logo acquisition

  across Japanese enterprises.
• Build and manage strong relationships with

  CXOs, business heads, and IT leaders

  in Japan.
• Lead pursuit strategies, proposals, RFP responses, and deal closures for Data & AI-led programs.
• Establish as a trusted partner in

  Data, AI, Analytics, and Digital Transformation

  .

2. Data & AI Solution Leadership

• Shape and sell

  Data Engineering, Analytics, AI/ML, GenAI, and Cloud Data Platform

  solutions.
• Collaborate with architecture and delivery teams to define

  business-aligned, scalable solutions

  .
• Drive value-based conversations focused on

  outcomes, ROI, and transformation impact

  .

3. Delivery & Program Governance

• Provide

  end-to-end oversight

  of large, complex Data & AI programs for Japanese clients.
• Ensure delivery excellence across

  quality, timelines, cost, risk, and compliance

  .
• Act as executive sponsor for key accounts, driving customer satisfaction and long-term growth.
• Set up strong delivery governance, review mechanisms, and escalation management.

4. Account Build & Scale

• Grow new accounts
• Drive account mining, cross-sell, and upsell across the service portfolio.
• Build and mentor high-performing sales, solutioning, and delivery leadership teams.

5. Stakeholder & Cultural Alignment

• Demonstrate deep understanding of

  Japanese business culture, communication style, and governance expectations

  .
• Work effectively across Japan and India teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and trust.

Key Requirements

Experience & Background

• 20+ years of experience

  in IT services / digital transformation organizations.
• Proven success in

  managing Japanese clients and winning new accounts in Japan

  .
• Strong track record in

  Data, Analytics, AI/ML, and GenAI programs

  .
• Extensive experience managing

  large-scale, complex delivery programs

  .

Skills & Competencies

• Deep understanding of

  Data & AI technology stacks

  and enterprise transformation.
• Excellent stakeholder management at

  CXO and senior leadership levels

  .
• Strong delivery governance, financial management, and risk management skills.
• Ability to operate in a

  matrixed, global delivery environment

  .

Language (Preferred)

• Japanese language proficiency (business level)

  is a strong advantage, but not mandatory.
