Global Marketing Head ( Major PE Player in Automotive Sector)

Our Client is a leading global Private Equity firm specialising in investments in the automotive and mobility sectors. They invest in companies across the value chain—from automotive OEM suppliers, advanced manufacturing, and aftermarket parts to electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, mobility services, and automotive technology. They partner with portfolio company’s management teams to drive operational excellence, strategic growth, and market leadership.

They are seeking a Global Marketing Head to establish and lead a centralised marketing excellence and value creation function. The incumbent will be the driving force behind elevating marketing capabilities, unlocking commercial synergies, and building premium equity across their investee companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Portfolio Value Creation & Strategy

• Develop and implement the firm’s overarching marketing value creation playbook.
• Partner with Deal Teams and Operating Partners to conduct commercial due diligence on potential acquisitions, assessing marketing capabilities, brand value, and growth levers.
• Post-acquisition, work directly with Portfolio Company CEOs to develop 100-day marketing plans and long-term strategic roadmaps.
• Identify and execute cross-portfolio commercial and marketing synergies (e.g., shared market intelligence, joint supplier negotiations, cross-selling opportunities).
• Premiumization of products of all the group companies

Marketing Excellence & Capability Building

• Assess & Uplift and Audit portfolio company’s marketing functions (digital, brand, product marketing, sales enablement, marketing tech) and build programs to address gaps.
• Establish best practices in key areas critical to automotive B2B and B2C: Digital Transformation (web, SEO, PPC, marketing automation), Account-Based Marketing (ABM) for OEM/Tier-1 sales, Performance Marketing for aftermarket, and Brand Positioning.
• Mentor and advise portfolio company’s Marketing Heads, Facilitate peer networks and lead training sessions on PE-backed marketing leadership.

Firm & Portfolio Brand Strategy

• Develop a coherent narrative for the firm’s sectoral expertise, enhancing reputation among deal sources.
• Guide portfolio companies on corporate and product brand architecture, especially post-acquisition or during consolidation.
• Oversee the strategic direction for key industry events across the portfolio.

Data, Insights & Technology

• Advocate for data-driven marketing; Establish KPIs and dashboards to track marketing teams contribution to revenue growth and customer lifetime value.
• Evaluate and recommend Technology solutions where applicable to drive efficiency and insight across portfolio companies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in business, Marketing with Engineering Background
• Years of experience: 20 -25 years
• Prior experience required: Exposure to Marketing and Sales in Automotive Industry (Preferably in MHCV or LCV or EV categories ) or in the related industries like Tyres / Construction Equipment/ Consumer Durables, having handled pan India role.
• Direct experience in a Private Equity environment as a CMO/Marketing Leader within a PE-backed portfolio company.
• Proven track record of developing and executing marketing strategies that directly contributed to revenue growth, margin expansion, and multiple expansion.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives, investors, and operational managers without direct authority.
• Global perspective and experience working across multiple regions.
• Deep understanding of the key trends reshaping the automotive sector
