Head of Email Deliverability & Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full technical infrastructure for outbound email campaigns: SMTP servers, IP warm-up, domain reputation, sender authentication (DNS, DKIM, DMARC, SPF)
  
• Configure and administer bulk-email platforms (for example PowerMTA or equivalent), email submission & delivery engines, and ensure high deliverability and low blockage/spam issues
  
• Work with GMass / mail-merge / G-Suite / Google Workspaces for outbound sending where relevant
  
• Set up and manage DKIM, DMARC, SPF records across domains, monitor feedback-loops, maintain IP & domain reputation and ensure email authentication compliance
  
• Monitor, diagnose and resolve email delivery issues (bounces, blocks, spam-folder placement), troubleshoot SMTP, IP blocks, blacklisting, spam filters, ISP relations
  
• Work with marketing/content teams to ensure best practices in list hygiene, segmentation, suppression, opt-ins, unsubscribe flows and compliant sending practices
  
• Define and implement standards / processes for warming up new domains and IPs, rotate IPs, maintain high deliverability for high-volume campaigns
  
• Analyse deliverability metrics (open rates, click-throughs, bounces, complaints, inbox vs spam placement), provide insights and improve performance
  
• Stay updated with email-industry standards, ISPs policies, spam-filter evolutions, and ensure your systems conform to them
  
• Manage vendor relationships (ESP providers, SMTP vendors, deliverability monitoring tools), as needed
  
• Build and lead a small team (or manage external resources) to support the deliverability infrastructure
  
• Define budget, roadmap for email infrastructure (servers, software, tools) and ensure security, compliance and scalability
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or equivalent experience
  
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing email delivery/infrastructure for large-scale campaigns (preferably B2B + B2C)
  
• Demonstrable expertise with DKIM, DMARC, SPF, DNS records, SMTP protocol, IP reputation, deliverability best practices
  
• Experience with PowerMTA (or equivalent high-volume mail transfer agent) administration
  
• Experience managing G-Suite / Google Workspaces / Gmail sendingfrom a deliverability / domain setup perspectiveand
  
• Good knowledge of email sending platforms, bulk email architecture, IP warm-up strategies, domain reputation management
  
• Experience in troubleshooting deliverability issues: blocks, throttling, spam-folder placement, ISP feedback loops, blacklists
  
• Ability to work across tech + marketing teams: youll need to translate between delivery-infrastructure and campaign strategy
  
• Analytical skills: ability to interpret deliverability and campaign metrics and make actionable recommendations
  
• Good communication skills, ability to document infrastructure and process, drive policy changes
  
• Experience managing a team / vendors a plus
  
• Familiarity with international email-compliance regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL) is a plus
  

Desirable / Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in a SaaS / high-volume email-marketing environment
  
• Prior experience in IP warm-up, large volume list management and deliverability orchestration
  
• Experience with deliverability monitoring tools (e.g., ReturnPath, 250ok, Postmaster tools)
  
• Background in server/infrastructure (Linux, mail logs, queue monitoring)
  
• Experience in scripting/automation around email sending workflows
  
• Prior experience in the Indian market plus international (if you send globally)
  
• Comfortable working in a startup / growth setting (flexible role, fast-moving)
