Academic Responsibilities 1. Academic Planning and PreparationOversee academic activities in alignment with the Director’s guidance and institutional objectives. Allocate subjects to faculty members at least two weeks before semester/year commencement. Prepare and circulate semester timetables to faculty and students one day before classes begin. Collect and review faculty lesson plans prior to semester start. Ensure faculty workload distribution follows institutional guidelines. 2. Faculty Support and Performance ManagementGuide faculty in preparing examination papers with confidentiality and timeliness. Review student feedback on faculty and share insights with concerned stakeholders. Support faculty in performance improvement and professional growth. Monitor faculty performance continuously across semesters. Organize faculty development programs and workshops. 3. Student Academic EngagementEnsure master registers for attendance and internal marks are maintained from week one. Collaborate with class teachers to communicate attendance and marks to parents. Counsel students with irregular attendance or poor academic performance. Organize project batches and assign guides as per Director’s directions. Assign teacher-counselors for student guidance at the start of each academic year. Arrange remedial classes for academically weak students. 4. Academic Records and ComplianceEnsure timely updating of departmental records (lesson plans, service files, budgets, etc.). Manage AICTE renewals, applications, and EVC processes. Oversee LIC (Local Inspection Committee) planning, execution, and documentation. Maintain academic discipline in line with institutional standards. 5. Departmental CoordinationShare departmental updates with relevant authorities. Supervise overall departmental operations. Align all academic activities with institutional policies. II. Administrative Responsibilities 1. Departmental Leadership and ManagementUphold discipline and compliance with institutional rules. Appoint a faculty Head In-Charge during periods of absence. Supervise day-to-day operations and ensure smooth functioning. 2. Attendance and Records ManagementSubmit staff attendance registers daily to the Director’s office by 9:30 AM. Review student attendance registers weekly. Route departmental correspondence through the Director’s office. 3. Student and Faculty EngagementRegularly engage with students to resolve academic issues. Monitor student dress code compliance with class teachers. Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures for students and faculty. 4. Operational and Security ManagementEnsure labs and classrooms are securely closed after use. Conduct bi-weekly staff meetings and document minutes. Hold regular meetings with staff and student representatives. Execute additional tasks assigned by the Director/Management. III. Research and Extension Activities 1. Research Promotion and ManagementFoster an active research culture within the department. Encourage faculty and students to engage in impactful research. 2. Industry and Community EngagementPromote extension activities linking academics with industry and community. Organize collaborative projects, internships, and research with industry partners.
