Head of Accounts

Department:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of 6 accounting professionals.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing and reporting.
• Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements like GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, etc.
• Coordinate with auditors (internal, statutory, and tax) for successful audits.
• Monitor project-wise costing and profitability, especially for ship repairs and marine contracts.
• Manage cash flow, fund flow, and working capital requirements.
• Oversee inventory and asset management.
• Drive improvements in financial processes and internal controls.
• Ensure efficient use of accounting/ERP software and guide the team on the same.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or a Masters Degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Minimum 1015 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the marine, ship repair, or engineering industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Indian financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
