Job Description

Malni Bistro is looking for a skilled and dependable Head Chef who can confidently take charge of a multi-cuisine kitchen specializing in Indian, Chinese, and Tandoori dishes.

This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of hands-on experience in leading a full-service kitchen, managing a diverse team (8-10), and consistently delivering high-quality food with efficiency and flair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead kitchen operations for Indian, Chinese, and Tandoor sections
  • Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen staff
  • Standardize recipes, maintain portion control, and ensure food quality and consistency
  • Coordinate with Store Manager for daily prep, procurement, and inventory
  • Ensure hygiene, food safety, and FSSAI compliance across the kitchen
  • Work closely with FOH team & Store Manager for smooth service coordination
  • Monitor kitchen expenses, reduce wastage, and ensure cost-effective operations
  • Innovate and refresh the menu seasonally with regional specials and crowd-pleasers
  • Ensure visually stunning, Instagram-worthy food presentations to drive positive reviews and social media buzz

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Head Chef or Sous Chef in a full-service restaurant
  • Minimum 10+12 educated with good written English skills for KOT handling and kitchen reporting
  • Expertise in Indian (North & South), Indo-Chinese, and traditional Tandoor cuisine
  • Ability to manage a high-volume kitchen and work under pressure
  • Proficient in kitchen inventory, costing, and vendor management
  • Must speak Hindi; basic English communication is essential
  • Willing to commit to a minimum of 1 year of job employment (or longer term)
  • Must provide 3 verified professional references
