D. Job Summary:

The Head – Business Excellence & Governance will build and lead a global Business Excellence function focused on strengthening internal controls, reinforcing process discipline, ensuring ESG and statutory compliance, and enabling predictable, scalable execution across geographies.

This role will work closely with leadership to ensure governance frameworks effectively support business execution, growth, and risk management, while maintaining operational agility.

E. Key Responsibilities

1. Internal Audit & Controls

• Design and execute a global internal audit framework across functions and geographies
• Audit financial, operational, and project-level controls
• Highlight control weaknesses, compliance gaps, and execution risks
• Drive timely closure of audit observations in collaboration with business teams

2 . ESG, Risk & Compliance

• The candidate must bring strong hands-on knowledge of internal audit frameworks, governance models, risk management, statutory and ESG compliance, with the capability to interpret regulations and best practices into practical, business-relevant guidance.
• They must be able to

  guide teams during complex or high-risk situations

  , support decision-making with structured risk insights, and ensure governance knowledge is institutionalised rather than dependent on individuals.

3 . Governance & Reporting

• Develop leadership dashboards covering audit, compliance, risk, and governance metrics
• Provide regular governance updates to senior management
• Act as the primary interface for external auditors and governance reviews
• Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and other functions to embed governance into execution outcomes

Ideal Candidate Profile

• MBA from a Tier-1 institute (IIMs preferred)
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in audit, internal controls, business excellence, or governance roles
• Exposure to project-based, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, or execution-driven businesses preferred
• Strong understanding of operational and financial controls in scaled organisations
• High maturity with strong cross-functional and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable operating independently at a senior leadership level
