Role Overview

We are hiring a full-stack HCL DX Frontend & Java Developer who can bridge the gap between portal UI/UX and robust backend services within the HCL Digital Experience environment. This role requires hands-on experience building intuitive front-end components that integrate seamlessly with DX workflows, APIs, and portlets. You’ll work in a cross-functional team to ensure scalable, modular, and responsive user experiences for large enterprise deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop responsive frontend UIs using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JSP within DX themes
• Build backend Java-based services, APIs, and business logic using J2EE
• Collaborate with UX designers to translate mockups into functional DX pages
• Integrate RESTful/SOAP APIs with frontend components and portlets
• Customize portal themes, skins, and templates for brand consistency
• Implement WCM rendering components and dynamic content configurations
• Ensure performance tuning, caching, and DX page optimization
• Resolve bugs and collaborate with QA for UAT cycles
  

Must-Have Skills

• Solid experience in HCL DX or IBM WebSphere Portal
• Proficiency in frontend tech stack: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, AJAX
• Strong Java/J2EE development background for enterprise integration
• Experience working with WCM and DX workflows
• Knowledge of portlet lifecycle (JSR-168/286)
• Integration skills using REST APIs, JSON, and SOAP services
• Familiarity with WAS (WebSphere Application Server)

• Exposure to frontend frameworks like React or Angular
• DevOps collaboration with Git, Jenkins, and automated deployments
