As a Principal Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for Azure Confidential Clean Rooms and a new strategic incubation focused on optimizing cloud infrastructure for enterprise AI workloads. You will set vision and direction, foster a culture of technical excellence and inclusion, and partner across organizations to deliver impactful solutions. This role offers the opportunity to accelerate your career growth at the intersection of cloud, security, and AI, develop deep technical and business expertise in confidential computing and scalable AI infrastructure, and strengthen leadership skills in a dynamic, high-visibility environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- OR related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
- OR Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
6+ years people management experience.
1+ year(s) of experience in driving cross-team collaboration and deliver results in complex, matrixed environments.
1+ year(s) of experience with strong communication, organizational, and strategic thinking skills

Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions for confidential data collaboration and AI infrastructure.
Partner with product, research, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-impact features across multiple product lines.
Provide technical leadership in architecture, design, and implementation, ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
Drive project planning, execution, and delivery, optimizing for efficiency, quality, and customer value.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and operational excellence.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud, AI, and confidential computing, and apply best practices to drive innovation.
