Key Responsibilities

ScriptRunner Development & Customization:
Design, develop, and implement custom solutions using ScriptRunner for Jira.Utilize ScriptRunner's Fields to create dynamic and intelligent custom field behaviors.Implement advanced Behaviours to control field visibility, editability, and validation on Jira screens.Extend Jira Workflows with complex Groovy scripts for custom conditions, validators, and post-functions.Develop and deploy custom UI Fragments to enhance the Jira user interface and provide tailored information.Create and manage custom REST Endpoints for integrations with external systems or advanced internal scripting needs.Manage and organize Resources (shared scripts, libraries) within ScriptRunner to ensure maintainability and reusability.Manage user permissions, groups, and roles to ensure appropriate access control through scripts.Write, test, and debug Groovy scripts for various Jira and ScriptRunner functionalities.Crafting interactive web pages, customizing functionalities, and developing email templates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Confluence Management & Documentation:Create and maintain Confluence pages for documenting system changes, releases, new features, and standard operating procedures.Develop Confluence templates and best practices to improve content consistency and usability.

What You'll Do
Custom Jira Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Jira ScriptRunner plugins, scripts and automations to extend Jira's functionality and meet specific business requirements.Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the technical design and architecture for complex Jira solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.Atlassian Ecosystem Management: Manage and maintain our Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket instances, including upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.Integration & Automation: Integrate Jira with other enterprise systems (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, reporting tools, identity providers) to streamline workflows and data flow.Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a technical leader within a small team, providing guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior developers on Atlassian development best practices.Problem Solving & Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Jira functionality, plugins, and integrations, and continuously identify opportunities for optimization.Documentation & Best Practices: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, development guides, and runbooks. Promote and enforce Atlassian best practices.Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product owners, business analysts, and other technical teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and deliver value.

What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience directly developing and managing solutions within the Jira platform.Proven expertise in Jira plugin/app development using Atlassian's APIs (REST, Java API, Jira Cloud Platform/Connect/Forge, or P2 APIs).Strong proficiency with ScriptRunner for Jira (Groovy scripting) for custom workflows, behaviors, and automations.In-depth understanding of Jira's core architecture, including database schema, workflows, custom fields, and permissions schemes.Experience with other Atlassian products like Confluence and Bitbucket, and their integration with Jira.Proficiency in [mention relevant programming languages, e.g., Java, Groovy, Python, JavaScript] used for Atlassian development.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket) in an Atlassian context.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as an Individual Contributor, taking ownership of complex tasks from concept to deployment.Experience leading a small team, mentoring junior developers, or providing technical guidance on Atlassian development projects.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
