DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance, Hyderabad, invites applications from suitably qualified, early career individuals for the position of Grants Advisor. The role requires full-time engagement and is ideal for those actively progressing in their professional careers.The Grants Advisor is an entry-level role within the grants and fellowships team, responsible for supporting the pre-award stages of India Alliances funding programmes. The role focuses on application intake, eligibility checks, coordination of scientific reviews, preparation of documentation for committees, and ensuring smooth, timely, and accurate execution of all pre-award workflows. The position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-award process coordination
- Review management support (i.e., assist with organising and scheduling scientific reviews, including assigning reviewers, tracking responses, and managing communications)
- Data and information management related to the scientific literature, application records, etc.
- Workflow and process support
- Professional communication and coordination with applicants, reviewers, and internal team members

Duration
The appointment will be in accordance with DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance rules and regulations. The position carries a fixed-term contract of up to five years from the date of joining, or until 1 April 2031, whichever is earlier, and includes a probation period of 36 months, depending on prior experience. Ongoing appointment within the five-year term is dependent on satisfactory outcomes of annual performance reviews.
Money
The consolidated monthly remuneration is between 0.750.95 Lakh (Accident and Medical Insurance is provided as an additional benefit), based on qualifications and experience, as determined at the time of selection.
Qualification
- PhD with a minimum of one year of grant management experience OR
- PhD plus two years of postdoctoral experience with one publication in an international peer-reviewed journal
- Prior experience in using databases for scientific literature
Experience Desirable
- Experience with grant funding processes and/or grant management software
- Experience working within or alongside a grants administration or research support team
- Knowledge of standardized procedures and workflows for grant application review, evaluation, and selection
- Diploma or certification in research management from a recognised body.
