Job Overview:
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and executing category strategies that are developed by Global Strategic Sourcing to support Fortrea s strategic imperatives and mission. You will position the Global Procurement Services organization as a trusted strategic partner across the enterprise.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Support the development, management, and execution of category strategies to support Fortrea s strategic imperatives and mission. This may include taking on direct responsibility for the development of category strategies of less complexity, criticality and or annual spend.
- Partners with functional stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure efficient and effective category strategies, preferred suppliers, and competitive supplier evaluation activities are properly managed.
- Support or lead stakeholder teams on strategic sourcing initiatives, ensuring benefit realization and value creation.
- Support global strategic sourcing team members with the competitive bidding proposal development, supplier and stakeholder facilitation, analysis and recommendations.
- Support global strategic sourcing team members with the supplier onboarding process including ensuring that applicable supplier risk assessments are completed on a timely basis.
- Support or lead supplier pricing and/or contract negotiations for suppliers in designated categories.
- Support resolution of business stakeholders and/or supplier escalation on supplier performance, contract or payment issues.
- Conduct regular contract review meetings with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure performance meets expectations.
- Cultivate a strong team environment and service culture to deliver timely and quality services.
- Support the end-to-end Source to Contract process for assigned categories, ensuring compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Verify the relevance of sourcing strategies by consulting with business leaders and outside parties or data sources to understand market trends.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze procurement metrics and spend analytics.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical procurement practices.
- Support a robust supplier evaluation framework and identify opportunities for supplier development.
- Deliver savings and value targets across multiple dimensions, including material deflation and cost optimization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Life Sciences
- A deep knowledge of sourcing processes, market trends, benchmarks, and best practices across categories under management
- Strong knowledge of category strategy, management and sourcing, methodologies, and best practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy in analysis
- Ability to make recommendations and commit to completion dates
- Ability to troubleshoot issues of medium complexity
- Microsoft Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
- A related advanced degree.
- C.P.M. or APICS Certification.
Experience (Minimum Required):
- 7-10 years of experience in procurement or strategic clinical sourcing roles or allied fields.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and operate with significant autonomy.
- Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex problems to drive value.
- Strong business and financial acumen and strong strategic and conceptual skills.
- Language Skills Required: English fluent speaking, writing and reading.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting tools and ability to develop actionable insights from data.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to build, develop and maintain trusted relationships both internally and externally.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Office-Based (Hybrid), at the discretion of the line manager.
- Requires working with frequent interruptions and changes.
- High degree of global participation within peer groups via Teams and conference call assignments.
- Strong ability to work unsupervised yet still managing priorities of regional and global assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
