GIS Analyst

We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to support our development team by preparing, analyzing, and optimizing geospatial datasets for game integration. You will play a critical role in sourcing, preprocessing, and manipulating various types of GIS data for use in digital terrain models, overlays, and real-time map visualizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and preprocess GIS datasets including:

• Digital Elevation Models (SRTM, LiDAR, etc.)

• Satellite imagery (e.g., Sentinel, Landsat)

• Vector layers (roads, rivers, buildings, vegetation)

• Convert and manage GIS formats (GeoTIFF, shapefiles, KML, etc.)

• Generate terrain overlays and conduct terrain analysis (slope, aspect, contour generation)

• Work with development team to integrate geospatial data into the simulation engine

• Create and maintain metadata and documentation of GIS datasets

• Support creation of line-of-sight (LOS), viewshed, and movement analysis

• Use tools such as QGIS, GRASS GIS, GDAL, and Python for data processing

• Optimize GIS layers for performance in a game engine (e.g., tile-based streaming, LOD models)

Required Skills

• Proficiency in GIS software (QGIS, GRASS GIS)

• Strong command of geospatial libraries and tools (GDAL, rasterio, geopandas, etc.)

• Experience with terrain modeling, digital surface/terrain models, and geoprocessing

• Knowledge of geospatial coordinate systems and projections

• Ability to script in Python for automated GIS workflows

• Experience working with large raster and vector datasets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with integrating GIS data into game engines (Unity/Unreal/Custom)

• Background in geospatial simulations or tactical games

• Familiarity with web-based mapping (Leaflet, Mapbox, etc.) is a plus.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
