Job Description

LOGISTICS OPERATIONS

Experience Required:

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager oversees regional logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation management, KPI achievement, and seamless coordination between dispatch, warehouse, and customer teams. This role focuses on operational excellence, cost optimization, and compliance with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day logistics operations for assigned zones.
Ensure adherence to TAT (Turnaround Time), OTIF (On-Time In-Full), and documentation accuracy targets.
Manage transport vendors, including performance reviews and compliance checks.
Resolve escalations from customers and internal stakeholders promptly.
Drive route optimization, capacity planning, and productivity improvements.
Ensure audit readiness, SOP compliance, and conduct team training programs.
Support budgeting, cost monitoring, and invoice validation processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong operational leadership and decision-making skills.
In-depth knowledge of logistics, transportation planning, and supply chain processes.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in vendor negotiation and cost control.
Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or Supply Chain / Logistics Management.
MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Logistics / Operations Management (preferred).
Proficiency in ERP systems and logistics management tools.
Knowledge of compliance standards and audit processes in logistics.
