About The Opportunity
Healthcare — Tertiary acute-care surgical services provider focused on delivering high-quality general and minimally invasive surgical care across India. We operate busy operating theatres, emergency surgical services, and multidisciplinary inpatient units, treating complex general surgical and laparoscopic cases with evidence-based protocols.
Position:
Consultant Laparoscopic General Surgeon (MS / DNB)
Location:
India — On-siteRole & Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of elective and emergency general surgical procedures with emphasis on advanced laparoscopic techniques (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repairs, colorectal and abdominal pathology).
- Manage pre-operative assessment, peri‑operative planning and post‑operative care to optimise clinical outcomes and reduce length of stay.
- Lead theatre teams during operations, ensure adherence to OT protocols, patient safety checklists and infection-control standards.
- Provide on-call emergency surgical coverage, triage acute presentations and perform timely operative interventions.
- Drive quality improvement through surgical audit, morbidity & mortality reviews and evidence-based pathway development.
- Mentor and teach junior surgeons, residents and nursing staff; contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and patient-family communications.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (General Surgery) or DNB (General Surgery) and valid Indian medical registration (NMC/State Medical Council).
- At least 3 years post‑qualification experience as a consultant or senior surgical specialist with hands‑on laparoscopic practice.
- Proven competence in advanced minimally invasive procedures and emergency abdominal surgery.
Preferred
- Fellowship or formal training in Minimal Invasive Surgery / Laparoscopy / Colorectal surgery; exposure to robotic-assisted surgery is an advantage.
- Experience in teaching, clinical audit, guideline development and involvement in research or publications.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation and commitment to patient-centred care.
