General Manager

Position Title: GENERAL MANAGER / WORKS MANAGER

Reporting To: Managing Director / Director – Operations

Location: SIPCOT INDUSTRIAL PARK, VALLAM VADAGAL CHENNAI

Industry: Engineering / Manufacturing

Experience: 15–25 years

Role Overview:

The Unit Head is responsible for overall performance of the manufacturing unit, including production, quality, safety, maintenance, supply chain, cost control, and people management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Operations & Production Management:

• Lead and manage end-to-end unit operations.

• Ensure achievement of production targets and delivery schedules.

• Optimize manpower and machine utilization.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to quality standards and statutory requirements.

• Drive ISO / customer audits.

• Enforce safety and environmental standards.

Cost Control & Profitability:

• Control unit-level costs and improve profitability.

• Support budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.

Maintenance & Asset Management:

• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance.

• Plan CAPEX for expansion and modernization.

Supply Chain & Vendor Coordination:

• Ensure timely availability of raw materials.

• Control inventory and working capital.

People Leadership & Administration:

• Lead and develop teams.

• Maintain industrial relations and statutory compliance.

Coordination & Reporting:

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams.

• Provide MIS reports to management.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production

• MBA (Operations) preferred

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and decision-making skills

• Manufacturing and process expertise

• Financial and cost control knowledge

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹1,500,000.00 per year
