Position Overview

The General Manager of Sales will lead the overall sales function of the dealership, drive revenue growth, manage the sales team, maintain OEM relationships, and ensure high customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience in managing passenger car dealership sales operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Drive new car sales, pre-owned vehicle sales, and corporate sales.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and suggest proactive measures.
  • Ensure effective implementation of OEM sales programs and campaigns.

2. Sales Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day showroom and field sales operations.
  • Ensure inventory management, stock planning, and coordination with OEM.
  • Review sales forecasting, pipeline management, and conversion ratios.
  • Drive digital sales initiatives and customer engagement tools.

3. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a large sales team, including Sales Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Consultants.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training & development.
  • Build a high-performing and customer-centric sales culture.

4. Customer Experience & Retention

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction levels through process excellence and smooth delivery operations.
  • Manage escalations and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive repeat business, referrals, and long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or MBA preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in Automobile Dealership sales, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership/GM role.
