Job Title: General Manager – Sales & Business Development (Solar Industry). Location: Karnal, Haryana Experience Required: 8 to 14 Years Industry: Renewable Energy / Solar Power Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager – Sales & Business Development to lead and expand our solar energy business in the Karnal region. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, proven sales capabilities, and deep understanding of the solar power industry to drive revenue growth, forge key partnerships, and manage high-performing sales teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead regional sales and business development operations for solar rooftop, utility, and C&I projects. Drive revenue targets through effective sales strategies, customer acquisition, and channel development. Identify new business opportunities and establish strong relationships with clients, government agencies, EPC contractors, and partners. Oversee preparation of proposals, technical & commercial offers, and negotiation of contracts. Manage, mentor, and scale the sales and BD team for the region. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and government policies to adapt strategies. Collaborate with technical and project execution teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and business plans for senior leadership. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering / business administration. MBA preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales and business development, with at least 3 years in the solar or renewable energy sector. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in the solar industry. Strong technical and commercial understanding of solar rooftop and ground-mounted systems . Hands-on experience in selling solar projects to residential, commercial, industrial, or utility clients. Excellent communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills. Strong local network in Haryana and nearby markets is a plus. Willingness to travel across the region.
