Company Overview
Our client is one of the largest Global Indian Corporate Groups in the manufacturing of heavy engineering equipment, with a Group turnover exceeding ₹4,000 Crores and multi-locational operations across India and overseas. The company operates a modern steel casting foundry (500 MT capacity) at Kolhapur, Maharashtra, serving both domestic and global customers.

Position: General Manager – Methoding (Steel Casting Foundry)

Location: Kolhapur, Maharashtra
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech – Metallurgy / Mechanical / Production / Foundry Technology
Experience: 18–22 years in Methoding & Design for Steel Castings in large foundries / heavy engineering industry

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Methoding & Simulation function for steel castings of up to 500 MT capacity.
• Design gating and riser systems to ensure sound castings with minimum defects.
• Use advanced casting simulation software (e.g., MAGMA, ProCAST, AutoCAST, SolidCast, etc.) to optimize methods.
• Develop and validate feeder design, mold design, and chills/insulation layouts for complex steel castings.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Reduce casting rejections, rework, and yield losses through robust method designs.
• Drive new product development (NPD) methoding support for domestic and export customers.
• Provide technical guidance to methoding engineers, pattern makers, and simulation specialists.
• Benchmark and implement global best practices in methoding and casting simulation.
• Ensure knowledge transfer and training programs to upskill the methoding team.
• Support customer discussions and approvals for methoding designs in global markets.

Candidate Profile

• 18–22 years of experience in methoding for steel castings with exposure to large & complex castings.
• Expertise in casting simulation tools and advanced foundry design practices.
• Strong background in casting defect analysis, root cause elimination, and yield improvement.
• Proven ability to lead methoding/design teams and interface with production, quality, and customers.
• Good communication skills with ability to present methoding strategies to management & clients.
• Exposure to automation in methoding and digital foundry technologies preferred.
