Purpose/Objective

The Senior Electrical Engineering person will be responsible for overseeing the Design and Engineering of electrical systems in a thermal power plant. The role demands expertise in 400 kV switchyard, BTG (Boiler, Turbine, Generator) systems, and BOP (Balance of Plant) electrical infrastructure. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring plant efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Roles and Responsibilities: 1 The Senior Electrical Engineering person will be responsible for overseeing the Design and Engineering of electrical systems in a thermal power plant. The role demands expertise in 400 kV switchyard, BTG (Boiler, Turbine, Generator) systems, and BOP (Balance of Plant) electrical infrastructure. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring plant efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. 2. Electrical Systems Expertise: - Design, review, and oversee electrical systems including switchyards, power transformers, bus ducts, high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) switchgear, cabling, and cable trays. - Large generator capacity up to 800 MW and its auxiliaries. - Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure alignment with project specifications and best practices. - Ensure that the drawings are in line with technical specification and statutory requirements. - Possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry standards. - Have a proven track record in handling complex electrical systems in thermal power plants. - Be proficient in electrical design and analysis tools. 3. BOP Package Oversight: Conduct detailed reviews and oversee electrical systems for Balance of Plant (BOP) packages, including: 1. Water treatment plants (WTP, PTP, DM, CWTP , GCP, Etc ) 2. Ash Handling Plants (AHP) 3. Coal Handling Plants (CHP) 4. Mill Reject Systems, 5. EOT Cranes and Hoist, 6. Condensate polishing Units, 7. IDCT, NDCT ETC. 8. Intake water system. 9. Infrastructure such as Township/Large size labor colony and other buildings. 4. Issue Resolution and Interface Management: - Identify and resolve interface issues through effective coordination with vendors, engineering divisions, and consultants. - Ensure smooth integration of all electrical systems with project timelines and deliverables. 5. Compliance and Quality Assurance: - Ensure all designs comply with statutory requirements, project standards, and regulatory norms. - Maintain high-quality documentation and ensure adherence to design philosophy and technical requirements. 6. Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: - Collaborate with vendors to streamline the submission and approval of technical documents and drawings. - Facilitate effective communication between consultants, vendors, and other project teams to maintain alignment on project goals.

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
