General Accounting Record To Report (R2R) Analyst Specialist

The General Accounting Record to Report (R2R) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organization’s financial records. This role involves managing end-to-end R2R processes including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closing, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The position works closely with other finance teams (P2P, O2C, FP&A) and supports both local and global accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting & Month-End Close

• Perform journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with GAAP / IFRS and company policy.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Review and analyze trial balances to detect and resolve discrepancies.

2. Reconciliation & Reporting

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., cash, fixed assets, intercompany, accruals).
• Generate and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure timely submission of financial data to corporate systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, BlackLine).
• Support variance analysis and provide commentary on key financial movements.

3. Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with SOX controls, internal policies, and external audit requirements.
• Maintain documentation for audit and internal review purposes.
• Support external and internal audits by providing required schedules and explanations.

4. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline R2R processes and enhance automation.
• Participate in process standardization, transition, and system implementation initiatives.
• Support training and knowledge-sharing within the accounting team.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in general accounting or R2R operations (shared service experience a plus).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).
• Advanced Excel and reporting tool skills (e.g., Power BI, BlackLine).
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
