About The Opportunity
A leading tertiary-care private hospital and specialty-clinic operator in the gastroenterology and hepatology sector, delivering high-acuity inpatient services, comprehensive outpatient clinics and advanced endoscopy procedures across India. We are expanding our on-site clinical team to add a DM/DrNB-qualified Consultant Gastroenterologist to strengthen patient care, procedural capacity and multidisciplinary practice.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality outpatient and inpatient clinical care for adult gastroenterology and hepatology patients, including initial assessment, diagnostics, treatment planning and follow-up.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy) with competence in polypectomy, hemostasis, dilatation and variceal therapies; escalate complex cases appropriately.
- Manage acute GI emergencies (GI bleeding, severe pancreatitis, bile duct obstruction) and participate in the on-call rota for urgent endoscopic interventions.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with surgery, radiology, hepatology, oncology and critical care teams to optimise outcomes for complex referrals.
- Drive clinical governance: implement evidence-based protocols, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, maintain procedure logs and contribute to quality improvement audits.
- Mentor junior doctors and trainees, contribute to teaching rounds, case conferences and departmental CME activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- DM / DrNB in Gastroenterology (or equivalent recognised super-specialty qualification) with valid Indian medical registration (NMC/State).
- Proven competence in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy: upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy with documented procedure experience.
- Clinical experience in managing common GI conditions—acute GI bleed, pancreato‑biliary disorders, peptic ulcer disease, IBD and liver referrals—in a tertiary-care setting.
- Strong clinical decision-making, familiarity with cross-sectional imaging reports, labs, and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with advanced procedures (ERCP, EUS) or exposure to pancreato-biliary interventions; additional training or credentials a plus.
- Prior teaching, research publications or involvement in protocol development and quality improvement initiatives.
