About Lexomat.sk

We’re building a Slovak AI legal research assistant that lets people ask legal questions and get focused, citable answers from legislation and related materials—making justice more accessible.

No prior legal background is required. The product is still very young and your focus is to enhance it into a number one solution in the market.

What you’ll do

• Enhance a production app across our stack: Supabase (Postgres/Auth/Edge) + Python backend; Next.js + TypeScript + Tailwind + shadcn/ui frontend.

• Improve reliability, performance, and UX; polish flows, error states, and onboarding.

• Evolve AI features (prompting, RAG/embeddings, guardrails, evaluation/monitoring) to boost answer quality.

• Add/maintain essential developer instructions: README, local setup, .env examples, architecture notes, API contracts, runbooks/migrations.

• Work closely with the Founding Engineer—occasional in-person catch-ups in Kota, plus regular online syncs; strong async culture.

• Be eager to learn and do new things almost daily; stay flexible as priorities shift with user feedback.

Minimum must-haves

• Basics in Python, TypeScript, and Next.js (able to build/debug features independently).

• Basic SQL (comfortable writing/reading queries).

• Good English communication (clear speaking/writing, async collaboration).

• Strong analytical mindset with good intuition for customer experience and design.

• High curiosity, flexibility, and a bias to ship.

• No legal background required.

Nice-to-haves

• Built an end-to-end app before (idea → production).

• Used LLMs in previous projects.

• Worked with business analytics data (dashboards, metrics).

• Supabase (Postgres/Auth/Storage/Edge) experience.

• Embeddings (e.g., pgvector or equivalent) in retrieval/ranking pipelines.
