Freelance Senior SAP Manufacturing Systems Analyst

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Systems Analyst specializing in Manufacturing Operations to support and optimize SAP, MES, and Labeling solutions in a manufacturing environment. The consultant will work closely with Supply Chain and Operations stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions and support production execution, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with Supply Chain and Manufacturing stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements
• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements for Manufacturing Operations systems
• Configure and support SAP S/4HANA or ECC manufacturing-related modules, MES, and Labeling solutions
• Optimize production execution processes with focus on operational efficiency and OEE
• Analyze system performance and recommend configuration or process improvements
• Identify and support system enhancements, including collaboration with developers on custom solutions
• Support integrations between SAP, MES, Labeling, and other enterprise systems
• Provide ongoing application support and act as an escalation point for complex manufacturing system issues
• Participate in testing activities including test case creation, execution, and validation
• Create and maintain business and functional documentation such as process flows, requirements, use cases, and test plans
• Support continuous improvement initiatives based on system usage and user feedback
• Travel on-site as required, approximately 20–30 percent annually

Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience as a SAP Systems Analyst or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Manufacturing Operations solutions including SAP ECC or S/4HANA, MES, and Labeling systems
• Experience supporting production execution, batch processing, and traceability in manufacturing environments
• Solid understanding of food or process manufacturing operations is highly preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex system and process issues
• Experience creating functional requirements, process diagrams, use cases, user stories, and test artifacts
• Proven ability to gather, document, and communicate business and technical requirements
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes and SAP integration points
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a contract role

Preferred Skills

• SAP certification or Six Sigma certification
• Experience proposing or supporting automation or AI-driven enhancements in manufacturing systems
