Job Purpose

The Float In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the complete manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, and dispatch activities related to Float Equipment (Float Shoes, Float Collars, Guide Shoes, and related drilling accessories) ensuring compliance with API / customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities1. Production & Operations

• Supervise end-to-end manufacturing operations of float equipment.
• Plan and monitor daily production activities to achieve output targets.
• Ensure correct usage of drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Coordinate with CNC machining, welding, heat treatment, coating, and assembly teams.

2. Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure manufacturing as per API specifications (API 5CT / API 7-1 / customer specs).
• Coordinate with Quality team for inspection, dimensional checks, pressure testing, and documentation.
• Address NCRs, rework, and corrective actions related to float products.
• Ensure traceability of raw materials and finished goods.

3. Testing & Inspection

• Oversee hydrostatic pressure testing of float equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning of float valves and mechanisms.
• Verify test reports, inspection records, and final release notes.

4. Team Supervision

• Lead and guide operators, fitters, welders, and helpers in float section.
• Allocate manpower efficiently to meet production schedules.
• Conduct on-job training and skill development of team members.
• Maintain discipline, safety, and productivity on the shop floor.

5. Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with Store, Purchase, Maintenance, and QA/QC departments.
• Ensure availability of raw material, consumables, and tools.
• Support production planning and delivery commitments.

6. Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and company safety policies.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in float manufacturing area.
• Report and prevent unsafe acts and conditions.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain production reports, test records, and inspection documents.
• Submit daily/weekly production status to reporting authority.
• Support internal and external audits (API, client, third-party).

Authority

• Assign tasks to operators and technicians within float section.
• Stop production in case of quality or safety deviations.
• Recommend corrective actions, training, or disciplinary measures.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in Oil & Gas drill equipment manufacturing.
• Strong exposure to Float Shoe / Float Collar manufacturing & testing.
• Knowledge of API standards, machining, assembly, pressure testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
