Job Description

Fishery Expert

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical guidance and on-field support to fish farmers, cooperatives, and SHGs.
Design and implement fisheries and aquaculture-based livelihood interventions.
Conduct regular field visits for pond monitoringassessing water quality, species selection, feed management, and harvesting practices.
Organize and conduct capacity-building and training sessions for farmers and facilitators.
Develop site-specific aquaculture management plans and sustainable models.
Document project outcomes, best practices, and success stories.
Facilitate linkages between farmers, input suppliers, and markets.
Collaborate with local government departments and technical resource organizations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:
Bachelors degree in
Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, Marine Biology
, or related field.
Experience:
2- 3 years of experience in fisheries or aquaculture project implementation, research, or development programs.
Skills:

Strong knowledge of aquaculture techniques, disease management, and fish nutrition.
Familiarity with rural livelihoods and community-based livelihood programs.
Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
Proficiency in
Hindi
and regional languages preferred.
Willingness to
travel extensively
to field locations.
