As a Research Assistant at Ikaai India Research, you will be part of a short-term field assignment involving data collection and reporting for an ongoing evaluation study focused on the fisheries and seafood sector. We are currently seeking 5-6 Research Assistants to join our team. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting field visits as mystery shoppers in various designated locations, collecting quantitative data through a mobile application, and engaging with stakeholders such as processing plants, exporters, fishing vessels, storage premises, and more. You will be required to prepare concise and accurate field reports based on your findings. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in fisheries, aquaculture, seafood processing, marine biology, social sciences, development studies, rural management, or a related field. While prior field research experience is preferred, freshers are also encouraged to apply. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to travel extensively within the assigned districts. This position is full-time and will require you to be available for the entire month-long assignment starting from early August 2025. The initial contract is for one month, with a daily remuneration of Rs. 500 as salary and Rs. 200 as DA, including food expenses. Travel expenditure will be reimbursed based on actuals, with a preference for candidates with two-wheelers.
