Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Conduct risk assessments Identify hazards such as cave-ins, toxic gases, flooding, or equipment accidents.
Develop safety policies Create tunnel-specific safety procedures and ensure they align with legal standards.
Train workers – Provide instruction on confined space safety, PPE usage, and emergency protocols.
Monitor compliance – Enforce adherence to OSHA, local regulations, and project safety requirements.
Inspect work areas – Carry out daily tunnel inspections to check ventilation, lighting, and structural stability.
Investigate incidents – Record accidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective measures.
Emergency preparedness – Establish evacuation routes, rescue procedures, and conduct regular drills.
Health monitoring – Check air quality, noise, vibration, and dust levels to protect worker health.
Coordinate with stakeholders – Work closely with engineers, contractors, and government inspectors to maintain safety standards.
Maintain documentation – Keep records of safety audits, training sessions, and compliance reports.
