the objective of skill building and development of vocational opportunities for India’s large

of unskilled/ semi-skilled workers, rural youth, farmers, and women entrepreneurs and action
research in the domains of agriculture supply & value chains, markets, and skills, and through
across the nation with the objective of providing them access to growth sectors in formal labour

About the Project
The project “Income Enhancement for Women in Himachal Pradesh” is designed to empower rural
women by promoting pine needle handicrafts as a sustainable income source. It provides technical
training, business skills, and entrepreneurship development for both existing and new women
entrepreneurs, while also strengthening SHGs for collective growth. The initiative offers incubation
support including branding, packaging, e-commerce integration, and exposure visits, enabling
women to access diverse markets such as retail outlets, exhibitions, corporate gifting, and online
platforms. By transforming forest waste into marketable products, the project not only enhances
income and self-reliance among women but also addresses environmental concerns of pine needle
forest fires, creating long-term social and ecological impact across 16 Gram Panchayats in
Mashobra Block of Shimla district
Field Project Coordinator – Himachal Pradesh
Position Summary
Responsible for overall field-level implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the pine
needle handicrafts livelihood project across 15–20 Gram Panchayats in Mashobra, Shimla district.
Acts as the primary link between the Head Office, local field team, community institutions, and
external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the planning and execution of all project activities in the field, ensuring adherence to
timelines and deliverables.
• Supervise and guide the Assistant Field Project Coordinator and Field Executives.
• Oversee the mobilization of women entrepreneurs.
• Create women’s SHGs and establish an SHG federation to support their business activities and
assist in marketing.
• Possess the capacity to take ownership of the SHG federation and the mindset to continue
working for the federation after the completion of the project in a leadership role.
• Coordinate training programs (technical & business skills), exposure visits, and mentoring
sessions.
• Liaise with experts/trainers for product design, business skills, and marketing support.
• Ensure proper use of project resources such as the warehouse, go-down, and packaging units.
• Maintain project MIS – beneficiary data, training records, production volumes, and sales
tracking.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports to the Project Manager at the Head Office.
• Represent the project at local events, exhibitions, and stakeholder meetings.
• Ensure compliance with donor branding, documentation, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work, Rural Development, or related field.
• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in livelihood promotion, SHG strengthening, or handicraft
projects.
• Strong community mobilization, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with MIS reporting.
• Fluency in Hindi; knowledge of the local dialect preferred.
